This kid took a week off from all responsibilities and I feel so good. This week I’ll be starting my Thesis process and it’s daunting but after being so rested I feel like I’ll be able to take it on. From Friday May 19th- now May 29 I read books, binge watched Jane the Virgin and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, went to Newport Beach, had some camp meetings, and spent time with my family. In that time I ate well and here are some of my favorites.
First off, I could have had 4 of these and been happy with the world although I probably would have gotten a massive headache from it. This almond milk latte from Neat Coffee in Costa Mesa was heaven on my tastebuds. I got some emailing done here and phone calls while also meeting my friend Meredith to catch up before heading down to Sarah’s beach house.
After laying on the beach and reading for about an hour Sarah got to the beach from work and we showered and headed to Cafe G. I somehow ALWAYS crave this burger down there. It was also Taco Tuesday so we got 6 dollar margs and didn’t feel like tacos. If you haven’t been here yet its all vegan and so so good.
Coffee with whole milk (lots of it) was also consumed on the deck overlooking the bay and I wasn’t mad about it.
We also pretty much finished this pint within 24 hours. This is my favorite flavor hands down!
I also met my friend Haley later in the week at Matcha Bar, one of my favorite afternoon pick- me-ups if I’m down near Hollywood! They had us try their chai matcha and I liked it but I didn’t love it. I always stick to the regular almond milk latte with house made almond milk. My favorite part of this was the company!
This is the third time we had burgers in the last 10 days and they pretty much all looked like this. Grilled kosher turkey, toppings, salad, and fruit! These Hawaiian chips are the Maui Onion ones and omg. so. good.
Lastly, Dad made our favorite strawberry rhubarb pie! We topped it with soy vanilla ice cream since half of our house is still severely lactose intolerant. I’m pretty much all good with dairy now amen!
I would have posted more food but you can check instagram for that! I also had food poisoning for a good 24 hours and I didn’t want to post that pic of the food that made it happen because it makes me want to throw up looking at it. I pretty much consumed a gallon of sparking water in that time and trail mix and pretzels as dinner one night because thats all I could take. Just being honest here.
