I hope you had the weekend you wanted to because I sure did! Coming off of a high anxiety week I was fully expecting this weekend to be the same but life will surprise you! I ended up spending a good amount of time in the study zone (like deep in that zone), lots of time getting lectures ready for the week, and just as much time with friends and fam doing fun stuff!
Eats from the week are below. These two were my faves. Pancakes pretty much every day or toast with jam and butter + eggs (forgot to photograph) and Thursday lunch was spent at Cafe Gratitude, with good wifi where I took a midterm rather than sit in the library. My smoothie is on IG and here is the black bean burger I love (called the Magical)!
Weekend eats were awesome. I posted the kale salad I made on instagram and ate out for pretty much everything else besides breakfast. Friday night post Zumba was sushi! I always get some miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, and a roll with LOTS of ginger.
Saturday was lots of studying + hiking + coaching games and at night my best friend and I went to a local brewery to watch the Cubs/Dodgers game. SO FUN. We ate this.
And drank lots of this. We ordered an IPA flight + personal beers and it’s really growing on me. Maybe I’ll like beer just as much as wine one day?
Sunday lunch was Mexican + a marg!
The rest of Sunday included yoga, more studying, mass, and watching the game on TV. After posting this I’ll be reading up for Monday night seminar class and getting my mental packing list going for FNCE. I am SO excited to get back to Chicago and I’ve been seriously considering moving back after graduation from my program if my heart leads me there.
As for outfits, here are three I got photos of! As you can see I’m not super adventurous in the bottoms department but this coming week I’m determined to wear a skirt. I wore a ton of dresses in the beginning of this semester when it wasn’t fall yet but white and blue stripes just seems so wrong in October so I don’t wear any of my summer ones and I have yet to get some fall dresses that I can wear in the 85 degree LA heat. I would have gotten more photos but I’ll be honest, this week was just hard emotionally and smiling for a photo was just ugh. Nothing crazy going on just a little funk that will pass as soon as it came through!
Monday I was so focused on school I totally forgot to ask anyone to get a photo of me! We had a big seminar that my group let that night on child and family eating practices and we were preparing all day so that 3 hours of discussion was doable by 6 pm.
Tuesday- (Ok horrible lighting but whatever- jeans from Madewell, LOFT top from the summer, I wore the flats with them for teaching and I also wore this outfit to church this evening (Sunday) with the sandals because I just got a pedicure!- Bracelet from JCREW outlet and earrings from Madewell.)
Wednesday- aka legging day! Wednesday is relax day for me. I go to school after yoga, have 2 classes, and zoom back to beat traffic to study for 3 hours before working with my YMCA teens. (Leggings lulu, Nikes (legit best purchase of last year), Athleta top , LOFT jean jacket, stitch fix scarf, )
Thursday I wore this to teach and that was midterm day!
(Jeans same as top photo, TOMS shoes, Stitch fix top, and blue bottle coffee- ugh the best. Also, I would love to carry around my cute bags but honestly there is never a time my backpack is not filled with stuff so I carry that to save my arms.)
Friday was just not my day but I had food pantry day for community nutrition and then met up with Sarah. She cooked me lunch and then we got ice cream. I was way happier after!
I got to see some other friends today too before mass so my heart was nice a full to start the week! Hope you guys have a GREAT Monday!
