Its March, yippie! March to me means Spring is coming and that Spring smell is in the air. I don’t know if you know what smell I’m talking about but it’s the one that smells of fresh flowers and clean air and just makes you want to stop – inhale and soak it all in. It also means wardrobe upgrades, which I did a little bit of yesterday and I thought I would show you some of my favorites! I know a lot of you enjoyed the What I Wore This Week posts and I’m bringing them back! To hold you over till next Friday, I’m showing you the 4 things I bought recently to upgrade my wardrobe. Get these while they’re hot- I’m sure these are going to go FAST because they are cheap and cute AF.
What I’m Reading
I am so pumped because one of my professors assigned Intuitive Eating for my cohort to read for our Eating Behavior class. I think one of the most needed things in dietetic education is the inclusion of Intuitive Eating and the Health At Every Size Approach so this is a start! It will be my third time reading it and I know I’ll get something different out of it that I missed before! If you haven’t read it I think it is a wonderful wonderful tool to normalize your relationship with food and learn to TRUST your body.
Speaking of Health At Every Size– I finished that too. This book is a research gold mine. If you are curious about where to find studies on the HAES approach as an RD2BE or other current health care practitioner- this is your book. I feel like I have such a better grip on the research now and can hold conversations (and arguments in class). I was also so inspired that for one of my other grad classes I’m writing a review article on 6 of the most notable HAES studies and presenting it for my final project to my cohort!
To be honest- I haven’t been reading for fun lately but I plan to get another thriller from my list. If you haven’t read The Woman in Cabin 10 I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!
What I’m Wearing
I bought 2 new pairs of shoes yesterday- both mules so I can spruce up some outfits. These black ones (29.99) I see with tight skinny jeans and a flowy floral top among other outfit ideas!
These orange ones (32.99) are just the cutest things with some cut off jeans and a white top?! Adorable.
Speaking of jeans- I bought these on sale at Banana yesterday for 40% off (they were 59.99)- there’s still a sale and they fit amazingly! They frame the booty and are really comfy in the thighs. All around very flattering and are true to size. I’m trying to get outside my comfort zone with jeans and these are perfect for that.
This cardigan (59.99 ON SALE!) is something my mom got me for my Sacramento trip for the Y and I wear it all the time. It’s so comfy and SOFT. Great transition piece from winter and spring and great if you are inside a cold office or classroom and need a little something.
What I’m Eating/Drinking
Pretty much every meal out lately has been Mexican? I never complain because it’s one of my favorite types of cuisines. My friends and family just keep suggesting it and I’m all in! Also- margs- those are my #1 adult beverage choice next to Pino Grigio or Sauv Blanc.
What I’ve Been Listening To
I have been loving the Nutrition Matters Podcast with Paige Smathers on my way to and from school. It’s an easy way to get an hour of education in while getting to where I need to be!
Movement I’ve Been Doing
Lots of walking and Zumba. I’m finally not sick or not too busy to function so I have really been enjoying getting back to the Y to choose whatever class calls my name that day!
Happy Friday! What are some of your favorite things lately?
